DC Refers is an online directory of lawyers and mediators who are willing to represent clients of modest-means* for a reduced fee.

Our goal is to increase access to justice in the District of Columbia by bridging the justice gap for moderate-income individuals, families, and businesses by building a robust community of lawyers who provide high-quality representation at below-market rates. The need for affordable legal and mediation services is enormous. That's why we are seeking more lawyers to serve on the DC Refers panel.

Joining is Simple!
here's what you need:

• Two years of experience in your field of practice.
• Your resume.
• Your proposed reduced-rate schedule or list of fees.
• Proof of professional liability insurance (your declaration page).
• Your D.C. Bar number (or the appropriate Federal Bar number).
• Two professional references, with email and phone numbers.
• Two client references, with email and phone numbers.
• Payment of a non-refundable $50 application fee.

All laywers participating in DC Refers must be willing to represent individuals of modest means* for $75-150 an hour, or the fixed-fee equivalent of that rate.
